Stay Cool, Berkeley! Heat Advisory Issued

The National Weather Service is reminding the public to drink water and avoid leaving children and pets in parked cars due to a heat advisory that’s been issued for Monday afternoon.

After a recent string of cooler-than-normal days, forecasters are warning people not to be caught off guard by hotter weather this week. Inland parts of the Bay Area can expect high temperatures from the mid 80s to the mid 90s, with some areas reaching more than 100 F.

Coastal residents can expect temperatures from the 70s to the lower 80s, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service advises the public to drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and caffeine, avoid strenuous activity during the hotter parts of the day, wear light, cool clothing and make sure to never leave children, disabled adults or pets in parked vehicles.
