UC Berkeley Baseball Team Honored Girls' Team Going to First National Girls Tourney

The Bay Sox will be playing in America's first national girls baseball tournament in Orlando, Florida, at the end of May.

The University of California at Berkeley and University of Southern California baseball teams honored a San Francisco girls’ baseball team Sunday in Berkeley, according to the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.

The all-star Bay Sox team was honored at the 4 p.m. game between the Cal Bears and the USC Trojans at Evans Diamond. The Bay Sox will be playing in America’s first national girls baseball tournament in Orlando, Florida, at the end of May, according to the Baseball for All website.

The tourney starts May 30 and ends June 4. Women’s baseball legend Justine Siegal founded Baseball for All. Siegal has been a coach of both professional and college baseball teams.
