Victim Hit With Metal Pipe At Berkeley Park
Police have released a description of the man and his clothing.

BERKELEY, CA — A male victim suffered minor injuries when a man hit him in the head with a metal pole Tuesday evening in People's Park in Berkeley, police said.
Around 7:40 p.m. a man took a metal pole from inside his satchel and hit the victim on the top right portion of his head. Police said the suspect then dropped the pole and walked south through the park.
The victim was treated by Berkeley firefighters and released at the scene.

Police said officers searched the area for the suspect but did not find him. Police described the suspect as a man, about 65 years old with a dark complexion and gray hair.
He was wearing a black sweatshirt with gray sleeves.

Police are asking anyone with information about the assault to call police at (510) 642-0472 during business hours, except holidays, and (510) 642-6760 all other times.
