
BERKELEY, CA — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday night in Berkeley and sent one person to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the face, according to police.
Around 10 p.m., officers began receiving calls regarding shots heard near Allston Way and Ninth Street followed by sounds of cars speeding away, police said.
A short while later, officers received another report of a vehicle crash at Ninth and Pardee streets, according to police.

Upon arrival at the location of the crash, officers found two people nearby.
One of the two had suffered a gunshot wound to the face. That person was taken to a hospital for their injuries, police said.

The condition of the shooting victim was not immediately available.
No arrests were made and no suspects have been identified, according to police.
