After decades away, river otters make a triumphant return to the San Francisco Bay Area.

They’re back! River otters, that is. For the first time in decades, these playful aquatic mammals are swimming and sliding their way back into Bay Area waterways after trapping and loss of habitat wiped them off local maps.
