Wrecking Ball Coffee Opens In Berkeley
This is the first expansion for the San Francisco coffee roaster.

BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley coffee connoisseurs have a new option for a cup of joe — Wrecking Ball Coffee has opened its doors at 1600 Shattuck Ave. This is the first East Bay location for the San Francisco coffee roaster.
The business opened in a two-story cafe on Aug. 23, where Philz Coffee used to operate.
Wrecking Ball Coffee owner Nick Cho and his wife Trish Rothgeb, told East Bay Express that this cafe is the first step in an ambitious expansion plan. "Our plan is for later this year to do the Silicon Valley thing and raise a seed round of funding and try to open a bunch of cafes between the Bay Area and the Los Angeles, Southern California areas," Cho said.
