Writing Summer Camps for your child

Does your child love to write? UC Berkeley's BAWP program offers 3rd-9th graders a 3-week camp to develop their skills and make new friends!

Join us for one of the most desirable summer enrichment camps in the Bay area, hosted by UC Berkeley’s Bay Area Writing Project also known as BAWP.

The Young Writers Camps offer your child a relaxed atmosphere to explore their writing interests, discover their strengths, and learn more about the craft of writing.

Your child will receive writing mentorship from one of our outstanding Teacher Consultants (also known as TCs). BAWP TCs are highly skilled, veteran teachers who’ve completed a summer fellowship at UC Berkeley and provide leadership in writing instruction across the Bay Area.

Our camp features lively, inventive activities that will let your child explore and take writing risks among new friends. And to celebrate the culmination of camp, families are invited to a special author’s chair event where young writers share excerpts from their masterpieces.

If your child is a budding writer entering grades 3 - 9, we hope they’ll join us for three weeks of writing exploration at one of our many camps across the Bay Area: Kentfield, Walnut Creek, Oakland, San Ramon, San Francisco...
