LOS ANGELES, CA — The city of Beverly Hills has reached a settlement in its negligence lawsuit filed against a woman who allegedly collided with a city police vehicle in 2025, seriously injuring the officer inside.
The Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit sought reimbursement by Susan Elaine Bristow of workers' compensation benefits the municipality paid on the officer's behalf. On Tuesday, an attorney for the city told Judge Jerrold Abeles that the case was resolved. The clerk's minute order did not disclose any terms of the settlement.
At the request of the city, the judge dismissed the complaint, which was filed last Oct. 13.
According to the suit, the collision occurred Dec. 15, 2023, at Third Street and Clark Drive in Los Angeles, leaving Officer Walton Cabrera with serious injuries. The suit did not give further details of the accident.
