Anesthesiologist Charged With Murder Of Plastic Surgery Patient
While working at a Beverly Hills surgery center, the anesthesiologist allegedly gave the victim a lethal dose of Demeral.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – An anesthesiologist was charged with the murder of an elderly patient earlier this year in Beverly Hills, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced. Stephen Kyosung Kim was charged yesterday with one count of murder, and is expected to be arraigned Thursday.
On Sept. 26, Kim was working at the Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery Center in Beverly Hills and allegedly had given the patient, Dr. Mark Greenspan, medicine to sedate the victim before surgery. While Greenspan was in the recovery room, Kim allegedly gave him a lethal dose of Demeral – soon after, Greenspan went into cardiac arrest and died. The defendant is accused of injecting himself with drugs during the procedure.
Kim faces up to 25 years to life in state prison if convicted, the District Attorney's Office said. Deputy District Attorneys Beth Silverman and Tannaz Mokayef of the Major Crimes Division are prosecuting the case, which remains under investigation by the Beverly Hills Police Department.
