Anesthesiologist Charged With Murdering Patient To Face Judge
While working at a Beverly Hills surgery center, the anesthesiologist allegedly gave a plastic surgery patient a lethal dose of Demerol.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – An anesthesiologist charged with the murder of an elderly patient last year in Beverly Hills will face a judge today to determine if there is enough evidence to move forward to trial. Stephen Kyosung Kim was charged with one count of murder after allegedly giving a plastic surgery patient a lethal dose of Demerol.
On Sept. 26, 2017, Kim was working at the Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery Center in Beverly Hills and allegedly gave the patient, Dr. Mark Greenspan, medicine to sedate him before surgery. While Greenspan was in the recovery room, Kim then allegedly gave him a lethal dose of Demerol – soon after, the victim went into cardiac arrest and died. The defendant is also accused of injecting himself with drugs during the procedure.
Kim faces up to 25 years to life in state prison if convicted, the District Attorney's Office said.
