Beverly Hills Cancels 9/11 Memorial Event
The city has canceled its somber anniversary memorial in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Beverly Hills announced that it would not hold its annual 9/11 memorial service at the Beverly Hills 9/11 Memorial Garden in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Normally, city officials, city police and firefighters, and community members commemorate the anniversary by laying wreaths, flying flags at half-mast, giving speeches, singing songs, ringing bells, and playing taps at the garden.
The garden, located right next to City Hall and the police department, features a floor beam from the Twin Towers, a model of the two destroyed buildings, and a list of names. It is still open for public visits, as long as social distancing and face covering requirements are observed.
