Beverly Hills Officials Direct Voters To 2 Ballot Drop-Off Boxes

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — After the California Republican Party was found to have planted fraudulent ballot collection boxes around Los Angeles and two other counties over the weekend, Beverly Hills officials are reminding residents to only drop their mail-in ballots off at officially designated spots in order to have their vote properly counted.

Attorney General Xavier Becerra has sent cease and desist letters to party officials after the fraudulent drop-off boxes were detected by state officials. In a Monday news conference, Becerra said that the boxes that were found in various locations in Fresno, Los Angeles and Orange counties were left unattended with no specific directions for voters.

"We have no idea what happens to these ballots after they are deposited at one of these unofficial so called drop boxes," Becerra said Monday afternoon. "We have no idea who collects it, we have no idea if it's tampered with, we have no idea if it's even returned or deposited to the county to be counted."

In a social media post on Monday, The City of Beverly Hills warned residents that there are only two official drop-off spots for mail-in ballots, which must be postmarked by 8 p.m. on Nov. 3 in order to be counted. Los Angeles County residents may find a list of official drop-off boxes at lavote.net.

In Beverly Hills, drop-off locations may be found at 444 N. Rexford Dr. and at Roxbury Park. Voters are asked to call the city clerk’s office at (310) 285-2400 if they have been notified about other locations around the city to drop off ballots.
