BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A construction worker was killed Friday morning at Beverly Hills High School, district officials said.

Officers were dispatched to the school just before 7:30 a.m. Friday. They began life-saving measures before the worker was taken to a local hospital, Beverly Hills Police Department Lt. said Reginald Evans.

Officials did not reveal the nature of the construction worker's death, but Evans said foul play is not suspected.

Construction work was halted Friday for mental wellness, officials said, and resumed Monday with counseling services available.

"Although no BHUSD students or staff witnessed the accident due to site inaccessibility, we recognize the impact this has had on the whole construction team. The Beverly Hills Police Department offered immediate crisis counseling which is greatly appreciated," district officials wrote in a statement Friday.
