Mom's Call To Cops Leads To Lockdown At El Rodeo School

Students are safe, police said.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Police activity has concluded at El Rodeo School at 605 N. Whittier Drive in Beverly Hills, which was on lockdown early Tuesday morning. Beverly Hills Police received a report from a parent at 7:50 a.m. that a man was on campus that she didn't recognize. Police responded to the school for the possibly unauthorized person seen, and out of an "abundance of caution," school lockdown procedures were followed while police searched the entire campus with the assistance of a police helicopter, BHPD Lieutenant Elisabeth Albanese said.

No unauthorized people were located on campus. The search was completed and normal school activities resumed, she said. Students were safe, and the person may have been an employee at the campus where some construction work is in progress, police said.

Detectives will conduct further investigation, to include viewing surveillance video, to determine whether a trespass occurred, Albanese said.
