'Fate of the Furious' Speeds Past Competitions At Box Office

"The Fate of the Furious" earned $38.4 million between Friday and Sunday to lead the pack and give it a two-week total of $163.3 million.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- "The Fate of the Furious" continued to speed past the competition at the North American box office over the weekend, besting a talking animated baby who continues to attract moviegoers, according to final figures released Monday.

"The Fate of the Furious" earned $38.4 million between Friday and Sunday to lead the pack and give it a two-week total of $163.3 million, according to box office tracker comScore. "The Boss Baby," meanwhile, placed second with $12.7 million, giving it a four-week haul of $137 million.

Disney's blockbuster "Beauty and the Beast," meanwhile, continued to pad its gaudy box office numbers, collecting another $9.7 million to push its six-week total to $470.8 million.

The comedy remake "Going in Style" placed fourth with $4.9 million, followed by the animated "Smurfs: The Lost Village" with 4.8 million.

Rounding out the top 10 films of the weekend were "Born in China" ($4.79 million); "Unforgettable" ($4.78 million); "Gifted" ($4.6 million); "The Promise" ($4.1 million); and "The Lost City Of Z" ($2.1 million).
