Firefighters Rescue Man From Burning Building On Doheny Drive
A man is alive today thanks to the efforts of firefighters who battled thick smoke and flames to rescue him.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Firefighters battled their way through thick smoke to save three people from an apartment fire the Beverly Hills-Los Angeles border Wednesday.
One man is in critical condition, and two other people were injured in the, blaze which was sparked by an electrical problem, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said
A 56-year-old man was trapped on the second floor of the apartment. He suffered burns and smoke inhalation and remains hospitalized in critical condition. He was "rescued by LAFD Firefighters who fought their way through thick smoke and flames to save him," said LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.

Firefighters were called to145 S. Doheny Drive at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, and they had the blaze extinguished in 17 minutes.
"A smoke alarm in the involved unit appeared inoperative, (with) bare wires, at the time of the fire," according to an LAFD statement. "The building was not equipped with optional residential fire sprinklers."
