100 Evacuated Due To Beverly Hills Gas Leak

A broken gas line in downtown Beverly Hills has resulted in evacuations and street closures.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — 100 people were evacuated Monday afternoon in Beverly Hills after a two-way gas line was broken under construction.

The leak was reported before 2 p.m. near 100 North La Peer Drive, according to Lt. Max Subin of the Beverly Hills Police Department. 100 people in the area were evacuated to Roxbury Park, Subin said.

As of 3:15 p.m. Monday, the area between North La Peer Drive and North Swall Drive, between Wilshire Boulevard, and Clifton Way, is closed.
