Jamie-Lynn Sigler to be Honored at Beverly Hills Gala

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler will receive the Medal of Hope at Friday's 24th annual Race to Erase MS Gala in Beverly Hills for announcing that she has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Sigler, best known for her role as mobster Tony Soprano's daughter Meadow in the 1997-2007 HBO drama "The Sopranos," disclosed last year she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when she was 20. Sigler will turn 36 May 15.

"She has made a profound statement in the community by bringing multiple sclerosis into the limelight with her public diagnosis and has made it her mission to help find a cure for MS," said Nancy Davis, who founded Race to Erase MS in 1993 after being diagnosed with the disease.

All proceeds from the gala at The Beverly Hilton will fund the foundation's Center Without Walls program, a network of the nation's top seven MS research centers, including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and USC, which conduct research programs and therapeutic approaches to eradicate MS.

"While there's no cure for MS yet, we have broken so much new ground in a very short time," Davis said.
