BEVERLY HILLS, CA – John Mirisch was elected Mayor of Beverly Hills at the City Council’s annual reorganization meeting, the City announced Thursday. Mirisch succeeds Dr. Julian Gold, who will continue to serve on the Beverly Hills City Council.
Mayor Mirisch said that local government, when done right, is the best form of democracy as it’s closest to home where most decisions should be made, the City press release said.
“I’m truly grateful to live in this community and for the opportunity to serve,” said Mayor Mirisch. “I look forward to working closely with my colleagues on the Council as we explore new opportunities and programs while enhancing the amenities we are blessed with in Beverly Hills.”
