Marilyn Monroe Memorabilia Will Be On Auction In Beverly Hills

Her signature costumes, hand-annotated scripts and personal photographs will be on display in Beverly Hills before the October auction.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Several iconic pieces belonging to Hollywood starlet Marilyn Monroe will be on display, and then for auction, at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills from now until September 30.

The exhibit will feature 15 signature costumes including her showgirl costume from "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," personal childhood photographs, her hand-annotated script from "The Seven Year Itch," Milton Greene photographs, and more, according to Profiles in History, the auction house organizing the exhibit. All items will be going up for auction after the exhibit ends, sometime at the end of October, the auction house said.

A major Marilyn Monroe mystery is solved thanks to the auction – how she got her iconic name. An oversize presentation photograph inscribed by Monroe to 20th Century Fox executive Ben Lyon reads, "Dear Ben, You found me, named me, and believed in me when no one else did. My thanks and love forever. Marilyn."
