On May 18th, 2020, Judge George H. Wu brought the litigation that began on May 30th, 2012, between BHUSD and Metro (MTA) to an end. The Federal Court ruled in favor of MTA in the case regarding permitting MTA to continue with staging construction at the High School’s fence line. On behalf of the Board of Education, President, Mrs. Isabel Hacker stated: “The District’s ongoing responsibility is to ensure the safety of the students and staff during Metro’s work and continue to pursue our interests through the eminent domain process.”
