LOS ANGELES, CA -- It's not exactly a holiday surprise, but "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is the top movie at the North American box office Monday.

The latest installment of the "Star Wars" franchise was a powerhouse at theaters over the weekend, collecting $155.1 million and easily dwarfing the competition, according to box-office tracker comScore.

Another Disney film, the animated "Moana," was a distant second place, earning $12.7 million between Friday and Sunday.

The R-rated comedy "Office Christmas Party" took third place with $8.6 million, followed by the Will Smith fantasy-drama "Collateral Beauty," which debuted with $7.1 million.

The wizarding fantasy "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" collected $5.1 million over the weekend to push its five-week total to $207.7 million.

Rounding out the top 10 films at the box office were "Manchester By The Sea" ($4.2 million); "La La Land" ($4.1 million); "Arrival" ($3 million); "Doctor Strange" ($2.2 million); and "Nocturnal Animals" ($1.4 million).
