'Our Hearts Break': Beverly Hills Condemns New Zealand Attack
"I stand in solidarity with Muslims around the world," Vice Mayor John Mirisch said.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – The Beverly Hills City Council Friday condemned the horrific murders of 49 people in New Zealand. The City's flag will be lowered to half-staff in honor of the victims, the City press release said.
“Our hearts break for the people of New Zealand,” said Mayor Julian Gold. “Once again, an unimaginable tragedy has left lives in senseless ruin, and we can only pray for the day when we can live in peace.”
The City Council plans to remember those lost with a moment of silence at the upcoming meeting on March 20, the City press release said. Vice Mayor John Mirisch said in the face of this "assault on humanity," Islamophobia must be eliminated in all of its "despicable forms."
