Philanthropist Eden Alpert Gifts a Day of Cake, Compassion & Community
Eden,Vista Del Mar Child & Family Services & the Boys & Girls Club Celebrate This Birthday with a PopUp Kindness ARTS Day!
Imagine walking a mile in the shoes of a vulnerable child who has endured great trauma in his or her young life before finding help, home, health, hope and healing, a few of the critical services of Vista Del Mar.
On Tuesday May 17th, 2022, philanthropist Eden Alpert, adopted from Vista Del Mar by her father, legendary recording artist and producer Herb Alpert and his wife at the time, shared her good fortune and this year’s birthday with Vista’s beloved children of all circumstances and abilities.
Expressing her gratitude for the exceptional comprehensive care provided by Vista Del Mar and recognizing the transformative power of their therapeutic arts programs, together with the Boys & Girls Clubs of West San Gabriel Valley & Eastside and Vista’s leadership, devoted staff and compassionate community volunteers, Eden chose to celebrate in a most special way, by hosting a PopUp Kindness ARTS Day on Vista’s verdant 18-acre campus.

Leading with generosity, creativity and love, she and Kindness Visionary Lori Milgard, who established the Kindness Program at the Boys & Girls Club in 2020, arranged for each of Vista’s children to be gifted a new pair of sneakers which they customized at the Boys & Girls Club’s PopUp Creative ARTS van. There they were encouraged to design a personal Work of HeaArt. Those participating will keep their one-of-a Kind pair of shoes as a reminder of a joyful day shared with a community who will support them as they flourish at Vista and beyond. Such creative expression, positive engagement and nourishing connection to the community is a reflection of Vista Values…“Together We Rise”.
Additional thanks are extended to Vista’s esteemed key Leadership Advisory Board (LAB) volunteers including, Stacie Cohen, Jennifer Schweitzer, Tamika Burrus, MD, Mena Suvari and Oren Segal, who as always proved that “Actions are Louder than Words” in cultivating understanding, empathy, equity and a sense of well-being for all. The sponsors of the event were John Andraos with South Western Wealth Management and Julie & Frank Hernandez with Precision Electric Company.
