Exceptional Wines in the VIP Collection
The VIP section offered an impressive lineup of Pinot Noirs from diverse regions, including top selections from Oregon, California’s Santa Barbara County, and Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley. One standout was a vintage from Rodney Strong in Russian River Valley, alongside exclusive bottlings from Davis Bynum’s River West Vineyard, also in Russian River Valley.

Winemaker Greg Morthole, when asked about his approach, explained, “We aim for low-impact methods, believing that 98% of the work is done in the vineyard and during fermentation.” His philosophy underscores the meticulous care and craftsmanship that define these exceptional wines.

Beyond Tasting: Education and Connection
What truly distinguished WOPN was its focus on education and the sharing of knowledge. Alongside the tastings and bubbly experiences, masterclasses led by renowned sommeliers and industry experts explored various aspects of Pinot Noir—covering terroir, aging potential, and ideal food pairings that enhance each vintage’s unique qualities.

Attendees relished the chance to expand their understanding while engaging with winemakers and producers. Conversations often extended beyond the event, fostering a spirit of curiosity and camaraderie among industry insiders and casual wine lovers alike. This collective enthusiasm made the celebration of Pinot Noir all the more meaningful.
