'Split' Unifies Box Office, Remains at No. 1

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - "Split" ruled the continent's box offices for the third straight weekend, and was on track to sell $14.6 million in the United States and Canada.
The Universal picture has amassed an estimated $98.7 million in domestic sales, plus $44 million in sales overseas.
"Rings" debuted in second place, and was on track for $13 million in movie ticket sales, according to studio estimates gathered by comScore.

"A Dog's Purpose" was third, with $10.8 million in sales this weekend.
Rounding out the 10 most-popular movies this week, as estimated by the studios, were `Hidden Figures`" ($10.1 million), "La La Land" ($7.5 million), "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" ($4.5 million), "Sing" ($4 million), "Lion" ($4 million), "The Space Between Us" (premiering with $3.8 million) and "xXx: The Return Xander Cage" ($3.7 million).
