Taylor Swift Gets Restraining Order Against Alleged Obsessed Fan

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – A judge granted singer-songwriter Taylor Swift a temporary restraining order Wednesday against an allegedly obsessed fan accused of trying to break into the singer's Beverly Hills mansion last month. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Wendy Harris ordered Julius Sandrock, 38, of Broomfield, Colorado, to stay at least 500 yards from the entertainer's home, workplace and concerts.

A hearing on whether to extend the restraining order is scheduled for June 6.

"Sandrock said he got the idea to come to Taylor's home after he listened to her album and watched a bunch of her videos," according to a copy of a Beverly Hills police report attached to Swift's TRO application.

Sandrock said he began listening to the 28-year-old singer's music after he divorced his wife, according to police, who said Sandrock was arrested the afternoon of April 14 while allegedly trying to break into Swift's home wearing a mask and gloves.

Ammunition, latex gloves, rope, masks and several prescription medications were found in his car, according to police, who say Sandrock told officers that he took the medications because of mental health issues, including depression, bipolar disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

It was the second time within a month that Swift's security detail summoned police. The singer was not home on either occasion.

On April 11, a 23-year-old transient pleaded no contest to trespassing at Swift's property and was ordered to stay away from the mansion. Justin Christoph Lilly was also sentenced to three days in jail and three years probation in connection with his no contest plea to a misdemeanor count of trespassing and refusing to leave private property.

Lilly tried to scale the wall at Swift's property on the afternoon of April 8, despite multiple warnings by security officers to leave, and was arrested by Beverly Hills police, prosecutors said.

The entertainer purchased the mansion, which was once owned by movie mogul Samuel L. Goldwyn, in 2015. Recently, Swift sold one of her Beverly Hills properties and then a second one, right down the street from the first, was put on the market.
