Woman Pleads In Beverly Hills Crash That Killed Two Passengers

The 31-year-old was arrested by Beverly Hills police the morning of the crash last April.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – A Los Angeles woman pleaded no contest Wednesday to two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and faces seven years in state prison for a one-car crash in Beverly Hills that killed two of her passengers last April.

Taisha Warie Welch, 31, is due back at the Airport Branch Courthouse in Los Angeles for sentencing on May 10, according to Ricardo Santiago of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

The charges stemmed from a rollover crash of a BMW X5 shortly before 1:30 a.m. last April 27 on Santa Monica Boulevard near Wilshire Boulevard.

Jenetta Williams, 30, of Palmdale, and Denesha Stewart, 24, of Lakewood, died at a hospital, and three other passengers were hurt, according to prosecutors.

Welch was arrested by Beverly Hills police the morning of the crash and was released on bond a week later, according to jail records.
