• 'Courage and Selfless Service': UPS employee recognized for heroic actions by Blythe CHP (pvvt.com) — A Blythe-area UPS driver, Hector Gutierrez, has been formally honored by the local California Highway Patrol for stopping at a tragic crash, helping victims and putting out a fire. CHP leaders praised his courage and quick action during the incident, saying his response reflects the best of community service and makes a real difference when emergencies strike.
   

• Area CHP responds to big rig I-10 traffic collision: Incident west of Blythe saw minor injury (pvvt.com) — A semi-truck crash on I-10 just west of Blythe early Sept. 23 overturned a big rig, blocked eastbound lanes, and briefly diverted traffic onto State Route 177. CalFire, Caltrans, and AMR responded, managing a diesel spill and guardrail damage before fully reopening the freeway later that morning; the collision was ultimately classified as a minor-injury incident.
