A Musical Banquet with Chatham Baroque

Chatham Baroque returns for their fourth visit to the Music Guild in January 2014.

This season's offering features a concert they're calling Banchetto Musicaleafter Johann Schein's "Musical Banquet" – a collection of lavishly scored dance pieces that was immensely popular during the early Baroque era.

“One of Pittsburgh’s greatest treasures” says the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Chatham Baroque continues to excite local, national, and international audiences with dazzling technique and lively interpretations of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century music played on instruments of the period.

The core players of CB will flank themselves by a bevy of guest players featuring selections from the Banchetto as well as other collections from the era, including Antonio Bertali's Tausend Gülden, Biber's Mensa Sonora, and Georg Muffat's Armonico Tributo.

Hot apple cider and cookies at intermission.
