Suspect Accused Of Striking Officer During Traffic Stop Arrest: Police

What started with a police pulling over a driver for rolling through a stop ended with an arrest for battery on an officer, police said.

STOCKTON, CA — Just before 1 a.m. Saturday, officers in the Sonora and Union street area in the Park District were driving when they saw the suspect allegedly run a stop sign, nearly striking police with his vehicle and colliding with a parked car.

Police detained Kiburi Dynes, 46, and allegedly found narcotics on his person.

Police detained Kiburi Dynes, 46, and allegedly found narcotics on his person.

When the officers attempted to handcuff Dynes, he allegedly resisted, struck an officer in the face, and fled on foot. Force was used to take him into custody and the officer was transported to an area hospital for treatment of an injury.

Dynes was arrested on suspicion of battery on an officer causing injury, resisting arrest by means of violence, reckless driving, and possession of narcotics.
