Brentwood Resident Provides Affordable Dental Care for Angelenos

Jake Winebaum’s free alternative to dental insurance, Brighter.com, has garnered national attention. The Santa Monica based service offering members paying out of pocket affordable dental care will be featured on tonight’s ABC special Real Money, a weeklong series on ABC’s World News with Diane Sawyer, according to the Brighter Facebook page.

“We want to make going to the dentist affordable for everyone,” said Winebaum in a press release. “Patients without insurance lack negotiating leverage and price transparency and cite cost as the number one reason they don’t go to the dentist when they need to. The Brentwood resident’s latest venture negotiates prices for users without dental insurance, averaging 50 percent less than standard rates. Users can sign up for free to search through comprehensive member profiles for dental services ranging from preventive, restorative, cosmetic or emergency care. Prices, images, videos and patient reviews are available at the click of a button without the complications of premiums or maximum caps, tied with dental insurance.
