Brush Fire Threatens Home In Holmby Hills/Bel-Air Area
A brush fire triggered road closures in the Holmby Hills/Bel-Air area but no evacuations Tuesday.

HOLMBY HILLS, CA — Firefighters aggressively battlED a brush fire that threatened a home in the Holmby Hills area Tuesday.
The fire broke out at about 11 a.m. Tuesday and by 12:20, it had scorched almost two acres near the 900 block of North Beverly Glen Boulevard , according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
"The fire was caused by a welding torch at a nearby construction site," fire department spokeswoman Amy Bastman said.

Air and ground crews battled the blaze, and some remained on hand Tuesday afternoon dousing hot spots.
One home was briefly threatened by the flames, but no structural damage was reported, she said.

Air and ground crews were sent to battle the blaze, which ate up grass and vegetation in steep terrain, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Amy Bastman. Crews worked to protect nearby homes, she said. Northbound lanes of Beverly Glen Boulevard at Greendale Drive and southbound lanes at 1201 North Beverly Glen, were closed and expected to remain so until about 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to Bastman.
No evacuations were ordered.
