Narrative in the Bible, a talk by Jack Miles

For Creative Arts Sunday, BPC proudly welcomes Jack Miles to the pulpit to discuss Narrative and the Bible, specifically 2 Sam 11, where the Bible uses a story in which a fiction that even the Bible recognizes as a fiction plays a key role. Miles will also discuss the role fiction plays in our lives today.

NOTE: TWO SERVICES, one at 8:30 a.m. and one at 10:00 a.m. Miles is speaking at both.

Creative Arts Sunday is Brentwood Presbyterian Church's recognition of the importance of arts in worship and in our lives, and offers our talented congregants the chance to shine in their various formats. We integrate the arts intentionally into this Sunday's worship services. This year we will have dramatic scripture readings done three ways: by ancient Israeli women, in a film clip from the '50s, and as we might see scripture shared today.
