The Glory of Angkor: Kingship and the Divine

Come to the Getty Center, GRI Lecture Hall, for The Glory of Angkor: Kingship and the Divine. Join Melody Rod-ari, assistant curator of South and Southeast Asian art, the Norton Simon Museum, for this two-part, two-museum course exploring the rich history of Cambodian art and architecture from the Angkor Period (about 802–1431). Examine Khmer Hindu and Buddhist sculpture (first session, Norton Simon), and the significance of Angkor Wat (second session, Getty Center). Complements the exhibition Gods of Angkor: Bronzes from the National Museum of Cambodia.
