Update: Fire at Apartment Building Injures Elderly Man

Update:

A 70-year-old man suffered minor smoke inhalation during a fire today at an apartment building in Brentwood.

Paramedics transported the man, who was in good condition, to an area hospital, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters dispatched at 6:53 a.m. to 11836 Mayfield Ave. had the fire out within 17 minutes of their arrival, Stewart said.

Fire damaged one unit on the second floor of the two-story structure, she said.

At least one person has been injured in a fire in Brentwood this morning.

Paramedics at the scene are assessing the person’s condition.

The initial call came in at 6:53 a.m. in the 11000 block of Mayfield Avenue.
