Brentwood Patch: How did Burn 60 originate, and how did you select the name of the studio?

Janet Crown: I learned about interval training and loved the efficiency and effectiveness of it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a facility that I liked, so I decided to open my own, and our doors have been open since June 2005. I was the demographic, so it was easy to relate to what busy moms needed.

The name came naturally. Burn 60 said it all: a 60 minute workout where you burn as much off as you can.

Patch: What do the Burn 60 workouts entail?

Crown: Changing up your workout is critical if you want results. Each Burn 60 class is divided into alternating intervals of walking, jogging, or running on a treadmill with floor work consisting of a combination of strength and resistance training, utilizing ever changing routines of weights, bars, bands, kettle bells, bosu balls, plyometrics and other state of the art techniques.

I’ve gone all over Los Angeles and taken every class to recruit the best trainers. The Burn 60 team of trainers is the best in the city. They are committed and work together to make sure every class is the best it can be.

Patch: What kind of results can a Burn 60 student expect?
