Contra Costa County Genealogical Society Fall Seminar " Bringing your Ancestors Back to the Future Using 21st CenturyTools"

On Saturday October 17, 2015, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Contra Costa County Genealogical Society will offer its first Fall seminar at the St.Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1601 Mary Drive, Pleasant Hill. The feature speakers will be Kathryn M. Marshall, PhD., Director of the Lodi California Familyl History Center and a member of the Advisory Board for the California Pioneer Heritage Foundation and James M. Baker, PhD., CG, Board Certified Genealogist and regular contributor to the National Genealogy Society Magazine.

Dr. Marshall has written many biographical sketches of pioneers, edited historical reference books, and published historical maps. The topics she will present are “ Changing Boundaries and Lost Ancestors” and “Locating your Ancestors with Animap, Historic MapWorks, BLM, and GoogleEarth”.

Dr. Baker is a frequent lecturer at local, regional and national conferences. His topics will be “2015 Genealogical Staying current with your research: Up-to-Date Tools and Resources” and “Expanding Frontier: Can You Find the Early 1800’s US Data On-Line?”.
