Bomb Threat Closes Getty Museum
The Getty Museum was closed to visitors while police investigate a bomb threat called in Tuesday: BREAKING.
BRENTWOOD, CA — A bomb threat called into the Getty Museum in Brentwood forced the museum to close early Tuesday while officials began the evacuation process.
The museum received the "threatening phone call" around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday at the museum at 1200 Getty Center Drive in the Sepulveda Pass area, which draws thousands of visitors from around the world daily.
"We are working closely with the LAPD, which in an abundance of caution has asked us to close the Getty Center early and begin moving visitors from the site," according to a museum statement. " Once visitors have departed, we will ask staff to leave in an orderly manner."
