“Anderson is privileged to enjoy Donnalisa and Bill’s most generous support once again,” said Judy D. Olian, dean of UCLA Anderson School of Management. “The Barnums each have a remarkably successful track record supporting business and financial growth, and it is so appropriate, as well as testament to their generosity, to establish a chaired position in their name.”
Donnalisa Barnum is a senior vice president and portfolio manager at Capital World Investors, a division of Capital Research & Management Company, a Los Angeles-based investment management firm with assets of approximately $1.1 trillion. Prior to joining The Capital Group, she worked on Wall Street at Morgan Stanley. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English at Stanford University with honors, a master’s degree in English and Australian literature at the University of Sydney, Australia and an MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Bill Barnum is lead partner at Brentwood Associates, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm that targets investments in middle-market, consumer-related businesses and manages more than $1.2 billion. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics with distinction, and a JD/MBA at Stanford University.
“Bill and I feel privileged to be able to give back to Anderson and further strengthen the caliber of research and instruction at the school,” said Donnalisa Barnum. “My experiences at Anderson were instrumental at a time when I was making a career transition to working with The Capital Group.”
“As UCLA embarks on its Centennial Campaign, the Anderson School of Management is fortunate to count the Barnums among our strongest of supporters,” said Anders Yang, associate dean for development at UCLA Anderson. “We are excited to partner with Donnalisa in her leadership role for the campaign.”
In addition to Donnalisa Barnum serving as chair of UCLA Anderson’s Campaign Committee, the Barnums are involved in various community and philanthropic efforts, including Embrace, Saint John’s Health Center Foundation, Harvard-Westlake School, St. Matthew’s Parish School, and Stanford University. In addition, Donnalisa is currently serving on the UCLA Investment Company board.
