Diesel, A Bookstore in Brentwood welcomes contributing authors Kimberley Lovato, Sarah Katin and Becky Hutner to the store to celebrate The Best Women’s Travel Writing Volume 10 on Tuesday, November 18th at 6:30pm.
From Travelers’ Tales comes the tenth collection in the annual bestselling, award-winning series that invites readers to ride shotgun alongside intrepid female nomads as they travel the globe to discover new places, new people, and new facets of themselves. The stories in this edition are as diverse as the destinations, linked only by the common thread of fresh, compelling storytelling that will either make you wish you were there or be very glad you weren’t.
Kimberly Lovato is a freelance writer based in San Francisco whose work has appeared in numerous print and online publications around the world. Her culinary travel book Walnut Wine & Truffle Groves was the 2012 Gold Lowell Thomas Award winning book, and her personal essays have appeared in Best Women’s Travel Writing 2012, 2013, and 2014. She is a member of the San Francisco Writer’s Grotto and the co-founder of Weekday Wanderlust, a popular monthly travel writer reading series in San Francisco.

Sarah Katin has been a television host in Korea, a professor in Japan, a treehouse dweller in Laos, ahouse painter in New Orleans, asangria swiller in Spain, a dragon hunter in Indonesia, and a fishmonger in Austrailia. Her travel essays have been featured in The Best Women’s Travel Writing series and in various print and online magazines. She is a frequent contributor to Matador Network and Medium as well as an accomplished screenwriter. These days she can be found somewhere in the world.
Becky Hutner is a Canadian writer and all around media creative living in Venice Beach, CA. The daughter of a flight attendant, she caught the travel bug at a young age, and then turned her passion into her profession, contributing travel content to Elle UK, Matador and a number of guidebooks and anthologies. Also an Emmy-nominated editor, Becky’s film and television work has screened on major networks and at top film festivals including Toronto, South by Southwest and Cannes.
