Smith Henderson discusses and signs "Fourth of July Creek"

Sometimes other people’s problems are easier to fix than your own. When Pete Snow, a social worker in Montana, tries to help an undernourished, nearly feral boy who stumbles out of the wilderness, he comes into contact with the boy’s disturbed father, and ends up at the center of a massive manhunt from which no one will emerge unscathed.

Smith Henderson is the recipient of the 2011 PEN Emerging Writers Award in fiction. This is his first novel.
