Tequilas Burbank and Ashley Erikson Launch 10th Annual Cancer Fundraiser with $15,000 Goal (myburbank.com) — Burbank residents can support Tequilas Burbank and Ashley Erikson's 10th annual cancer fundraiser, which aims to raise $15,000 for Providence's genetics and genomics program at the Disney Family Cancer Center in town. Through October 22, locals can donate directly, buy themed cocktails, mocktails, wristbands, and necklaces, or dine on October 21 to have part of their bill benefit cancer services close to home.

Karandeep Anand Joins Disney as Tech Chief (hiindia.com) — Burbank-based Disney is bringing in former Character.AI chief Karandeep Anand as its new Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer on October 2. Working from Disney's local headquarters, he'll oversee companywide technology, data and AI platforms, potentially influencing everything from streaming to park experiences that help drive Burbank's economy and jobs.

Man Allegedly Pepper Sprays Moviegoer Over Phone Use (newser.com) — Police in Burbank arrested a 34-year-old man after he allegedly pepper-sprayed another moviegoer at AMC Burbank 16 during a screening of The Uprising, reportedly over phone use. Two additional patrons were hit by the spray and treated at a hospital, and the theater issued refunds as the incident sparked heated online debate about movie etiquette.
   

4. 12 U.S. states reach settlement in Paramount-Warner antitrust case (hartfordnews.net) — A multistate antitrust settlement over the proposed Paramount–Warner Bros. Discovery merger includes protections that directly affect Burbank, requiring the Warner Bros. lot here to remain open and unsold for five years.
