• Pipeline: Hazelden Betty Ford's $40M Campus Upgrade; Addiction Treatment Services Expand in Multiple States (bhbusiness.com) — Plans are moving ahead for a 69-bed Horizon Treatment Services recovery center in Burlingame, backed by a major state infrastructure grant and pending county matching funds. The project would significantly expand local residential addiction treatment capacity, joining other large behavioral health investments underway across California and Colorado. Residents can expect a sizable new facility just south of San Francisco.
• Burlingame man caught on camera tackling suspect during police chase (nbcbayarea.com) — Police are investigating a midday theft from the Lululemon store on Burlingame Avenue that turned into a foot chase down nearby Lorton Avenue, where a Burlingame resident tackled the fleeing suspect on camera. The good Samaritan, who asked to remain anonymous over safety concerns, briefly wrestled the man on the sidewalk before a car blocked the view, and officers later took over the case.
