Woman Arrested After Crash Knocks Out Power

A 20-year-old Agoura Hills resident who is suspected of DUI strikes a light pole on Las Virgenes Road.

UPDATE: A woman suspected of drunk driving was arrested Friday morning after crashing her pickup truck into a power pole on Las Virgenes Road. The accident caused traffic signals and power to go out from Lost Hills Road south to Mulholland Highway.

Danielle Donatoni, 20, of Agoura Hills drove her 2002 Toyota Tundra off the road near Las Virgenes Canyon Road and crashed into the power pole about 5 a.m., said Lt. Rich Erickson of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station.

She was hospitalized but her condition is not known, Erickson said.

Donatoni's vehicle remained at the site for hours afterward because it was tangled among downed power lines, he added.

Southern California Edison (SCE) workers eventually cleared the power lines and removed the vehicle.

Both northbound and southbound lanes on Las Virgenes Canyon Road were shut down to traffic from Mulholland Highway, Erickson added.

About 2,085 homes lost power immediately after the accident, but it was restored about an hour later, said Nancy Williams, a region manager with SCE.

She said only five homes were left without electricty after that, but those residents are expected to have power again by 3 p.m. Friday, she added.
