• Estimated $1B generated from new sales tax hike will sit frozen after legal action (nypost.com) — Shoppers in Calabasas are now paying some of the county's highest sales tax rates—up to 11.25%—after Measure ER's half‑cent increase took effect, but the roughly $1 billion a year it raises is frozen during a court challenge. Residents will keep paying the higher tax while a lawsuit over the measure's legality and marketing works its way through the courts.
