• EDENS Acquires 72,000-Square-Foot Summit at Calabasas (citybiz.co) — A major Calabasas shopping hub, The Summit at Calabasas, has been purchased by national retail landlord EDENS, which plans further investment and tenant refinements tailored to local shoppers. Anchored by Erewhon and other popular services, the center's new ownership could influence future dining, wellness, and shopping options for residents across Calabasas and nearby communities.
• L.A. County Sales Tax Hits 10.25% — And Some Cities Are Paying Even More (californiacitynews.org) — If you live or shop in Calabasas, your sales tax just jumped to 11.25% as part of a countywide increase that took effect October 1. The higher rate, meant to support Los Angeles County's health system, now makes local purchases more expensive than in neighboring counties, so residents may feel the difference on bigger buys and everyday shopping.
