AOGC'S Lynneah Nelson Pulls Off The Impossible On Her Way To Becoming The 2016 State All-Around Women's Gymnastics Champion
All Olympia Gymnastics Center in Calabasas gets an olympic style finish from Lynneah Nelson to win the coveted All-Around Women's Title!
This is what makes gymnastics the most watched sport of the Olympics - big moments, big pressure, and even bigger finishes, and that is exactly what Lynneah Nelson of All-Olympia Gymnastics Center (AOGC) delivered, the best routine of her lifetime, on the most difficult women's event of them all - the balance beam.
Lynneah along with her teammates recently competed at the Southern California (SoCal) State Women's Level 7 Optional Gymnastics Championships held in Long Beach, CA on April 1-3, 2016. The best gymnastics teams in Southern California all came to the State Championships to do the same thing - win. But so did AOGC's Lynneah Nelson.
Lynneah moved through the meet with commanding success, winning the silver, 2nd place on the uneven bars and 8th on the floor exercise. She scored well on vault at 9.4, but it was not nearly enough to clinch the most coveted 1st place bragging rights in women's artisitc gymnastics - the All-Around Champion Title, which is like being "Queen" of the winner's podium.
Nelson had one more event however, the most difficult of them all, the balance beam. Completely focused on her performance, Nelson warmed-up her routine, checked her balance and alignment down the 4" wide apparatus. Finally, she saluted the judges and she mounted, danced, turned, and flipped all in near perfect precision. Finally, she executed her fast moving back-hand-spring dismount, launched herself 7.5 feet off the end of the beam and spinning through the air to stick a perfect landing under pressure. Moments pass and her score flashes, a huge smile appeared on Nelson's face as she jumped in excitement, a judges score of 9.7, the highest score ever for Nelson on the balance beam, and that 9.7 made Nelson, the "Queen" of the award podium. AOGC of Calabasas Lynneah Nelson won the coveted 1st place All-Around State Champion title Sr C with a 38.00 overall score.
But, it does not end there for Nelson winning the 1st Place All-Around title. Nelson's championship performance also won her 1st Place Level 7 Team Championship and secured her a place on the prestigious Southern California State Women's Gymnastics Team, which will be competing against competitors from four other states at the Region 1 Women's Gymnastics Championships in Chandler, AZ on April 22-24, 2016.
Level 7 optional gymnast Lynneah Nelson of All Olympia Gymnastics Center has been instructed by Coach Elyon Williams since 2014, who also coached Nelson to her 1st Place bar finish and 3rd place all-around title at the SoCal Women's Gymanstics State Championship at Level 5 in 2015.
