Calabasas Baseball Team Gears Up for Westlake

Westlake is 3-5 in league play and all alone in fourth place in the league standings.
Calabasas is coming off a 3-2 win over Agoura. Westlake was shut out, 4-0, against Moorpark on Wednesday.

"They have a dangerous offense led by Christian Yelich," Edsall said. "They're tough. Going through the lineup, they're pretty tough to approach."
Calabasas beat Westlake, 11-4, in their previous meeting in March. Yelich was 2-for-3 with two doubles and scored two runs. Nelson Spruce had a big day for Westlake as well in the first game between the two teams. He was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a home run.
Jacob Fields drove in three runs for Calabasas. Alex Rubanowitz hit a home run, had two RBIs and scored three runs. Kevin Lerner and Kevin Khalili each had two hits and drove in two runs.
Calabasas pitcher Sean Ladendecker got the win, going five innings and striking out five. He gave up five hits and walked three.
Westlake was held to three hits against Moorpark. Taylor Kahanowitch had two of them including a triple.
Calabasas collected only five hits in its win over Agoura. Jordan Bass was 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.
"If we play defense and we do what we've got to do offensively, we should give ourselves a chance to win," Edsall said.
