CALABASAS, CA — The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has released crime statistics for Calabasas between January and March.
Among the notable incidents: A homeless person from Long Beach was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary in January after entering a Temma Court house through a doggie door and then falling asleep in the master bedroom, according to the department.
Deputy Mason De Matteo broke down the reported incidents and arrests for that period during the Calabasas Public Safety Commission meeting Monday. Below find a log of major incidents, with narratives provided by the Sheriff's Department, followed by tables detailing every reported incident and arrest.

Noteworthy incidents in January:
- "A resident was arrested for assaulting a roommate on Calle Joaquin. The suspect threw a portable heater at the victim which struck the victim during an argument," deputies wrote.
- "A Long Beach transient was arrested for residential burglary on Temma Court. The suspect made entry via the unlocked doggie door. The suspect was found asleep in the bed in the master bedroom," deputies wrote.
- "A Watsonville resident was arrested for attempted burglary on Ruthwood Drive. The suspect followed the victim into the gated community and followed him to his residence. The victim parked his vehicle in the garage and went inside the residence. The suspect attempted to open the front door of the victim's home by twisting the doorknob, then began to kick and ram the door," deputies wrote.

- "An attempted robbery was reported on Calabasas Road. The victim posted a watch for sale on a website and was contacted by one of the suspects. They agreed to meet in the parking lot of the location. When the victim was showing the watch to the suspect, the suspect attempted to grab it out of the victim's hands. The victim and suspect began to struggle. The second suspected pointed a handgun at the victim. The victim was able to get the watch and flee from the area. The suspects fled in a black BMW," deputies wrote.
- "A commercial burglary occurred on Calabasas Road. A window was smashed to enter the restaurant. U.S. currency was stolen from the office area. These suspects, two males, were also responsible for committing six additional restaurant burglaries in Agoura Hills and one in Thousand Oaks during the same date frame," deputies wrote.
- "A resident of Woodland Hills was arrested for prowling on Park Vicente. The victim saw the suspect looking into the residence on home cameras," deputies wrote.
- "Five thefts of catalytic converters were reported this month. The incidents occurred on Las Virgenes Road and Thousand Oaks Road. Vehicles targeted were between 2007 and 2012 Toyota Priuses," deputies wrote.
Noteworthy incidents in March:
- "A Tarzana resident was arrested on Calabasas Road for assault. The suspect accelerated his vehicle at a high rate of speed towards the victim, who was able to move out of the way," deputies wrote.
- "A resident of Canoga Park was arrested on Calabasas Road for a theft that occurred in December 2022. The suspect entered the location with another suspect, selected fragrances and exited the location without paying," deputies wrote.
- "A theft was reported on Commons Way. A Canoga Park resident was arrested for stealing store items from two stores in the shopping center. All property was recovered," deputies wrote.
- "A Palmdale resident was arrested for possession of burglary tools on Calabasas Road. The suspect was seen at a car dealership attempting to open locked car doors at the location. The suspect was additionally charged with driving with a suspended driver's license," deputies wrote.
